Joe Laughlin

Joe InkJoe Laughlin is the Artistic Director of Joe Ink since its inception in 1995. A particularly versatile choreographer, Joe has received numerous commissions to create for dance, theatre, and arts organizations including the Canada Dance Festival, National Arts Centre, Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Moving into Dance Mophatong among others.

His many dance, theatre and film commissions have appeared throughout Canada, the U.S., Europe, South Africa and South Korea. Residencies have also been an important aspect of Joe’s professional life.

Joe regularly creates works for Joe Ink. Well-known for his natural, personable teaching style, his ability to inspire other dancers, from professional to fledgling, to discover their individual movement potential is one of Joe’s unique talents. His passion for work with communities led him to create Move It!, an intergenerational community dance creation workshop.
